I use this blog for many things, it all started in 2005 just after I had moved to Canada to live with my Mum after finishing my Chemistry degree. I had recently accepted Islam as my religion in 2003 and I wasnt really living the life, my family didnt know and those who knew of the interest did not approve. I was stuck in a 2 bedroomed flat with my mum and stepdad trying to adjust to a new life, not only in a new country but surrounded by new people and without the stability of school.
I used the blog (initially on yahoo 360) as a way to talk to people and to get my thoughts down. I had never been a sharing emotions kind of person, Im still the same, but sometimes I felt like just getting it down helped me get past things. I made many friends on yahoo, some I still keep in touch with, and after a few years I moved to blogger for the backgrounds ;) superficial right? ;)
At first it took some getting used to, there were things that I couldnt move over, things I loved about yahoo that blogger wouldnt allow. However, in the end I grew to love it and with every update I love it more.. I enjoy finding the new things and even decided against wordpress (after a short stint over there) to stay here and Im so glad I did after they added on more things that wordpress would give me. These page things are new, I can now change my backgrounds more freely without worrying about losing my widgets and hence my links.
I love meeting new bloggers who Ive followed their blogs for years and have gained so much inspiration from the many blogs I stumble across. I have a new family here, and that was my initial intention so thank you, welcome and enjoy :D
