So I just told my dad Im getting married.. I dont know why its taken me this long, I think I was still reeling from my mums reaction and this morning I started worrying that he would have a similar reaction... so I bit the bullet and phoned him this evening to stop the unnecessary worrying. Alhamdulillah, he was genuinely pleased I could hear it in his voice, he asked when it would be, how A proposed, pointed out that I was getting close to the end of my child bearing days so a quick engagement was the right choice lol :) we laughed about it, he said he was excited and pleased for me :) passed on his congrats to A and didnt once make me think that he wasnt thinking what he was saying... Alhamdulillah
Just wanted to share that with you all. So then I texted a picture of my 'engagement' ring to my closest auntie, 2 siblings and a cousin :D they all know A and all sent their congrats, I do now officially feel better masha'Allah. I love my family.. even my mum ;)
So this is my blog, this is my life, this is my world, these are my experiences. Feel free to roam, question and learn with me, comment as we go and leave your prejudices at the door please.

My mother
So eventually I worked up the courage to tell my mum that A has asked me to marry him (civil) what did she say? Well how about I tell u what she didn't say? She didn't say congratulations. She didn't ask about the ring or the proposal. She didn't sound happy (she cried!) what more can I say? She told me she didn't like it, that she didn't want me going to Pakistan, that he was marrying me for a passport. She said she had wanted better things for me. The conversation ended in a sharp 'bye' and she slammed down the phone :'( how do I move on from this? She can't take time off over the summer to come over. Do I want her mad at me and not being able to come over? Or do we do the civil on our own then renew later in the year when they can come over? She will be mad maybe still but at least she can see it, see us together.

What's new
So there has been alot of things going on in my life recently namely with the subject of marriage. Yes, yes in the eyes of Allah (subhana wa ta a'la) we are married. However, according to the UK government and my family we aren't. Last week hubby sent my mum an email looking for her emotional support in asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. My mum, being my mum, has put a spanner in the works and asked that he get his right to remain in the UK before going ahead with this. Now we're stuck, well technicially I'm stuck as I'm the one who has to make the decision of what to do. And, may I add, I have to do it fairly quickly :( I don't like pressure at the best of times, but I don't like pressure to make decisions even more!!
Anyways, I just wanted to fill you in on why I'm not around so much these days. Please remember us in your duaas and I will keep you informed insha'Allah
Peace and salams

Wow, its been a while
Sorry to have kept away from you for so long, things are pretty hectic at home right now and I dont really get the chance to sit down on my computer as much as I would like and the mobile blogging just doesnt give me the chance to sit and ponder while writing as I only have the usual 30 minutes to work to get it done ;)
So what else have I been up to? well 2 weekends ago I realised through my own stupid fault that my long weekend off was actually the first bank holiday of May and not the last.. even though it was specifically written in my diary I just had it in my head of the other way. This meant I had 1 week to sort out a van, get my cousin to sort out that I could pick up her fridge freezer thus needing a van (over a bank holiday may I add!) We eventually got it sorted and on the Friday night after work I picked the van up, we left London just after 6pm and got to Liverpool just before 1030pm which was a good ride alhamdulillah. My Grandad is still weak and quiet but I think hes deciding to make some changes to his life that he now realises he needs to make, alhamdulillah. So things will start moving for him soon insha'Allah
We have been trying to get into a new routine too, with the clocks changing we realised that we were eating too late, usually after maghrib.. so now we are more settled in eating after hubby gets home from the masjid for Asr salah around 7pm alhamdulillah which works out better. Hes recently bought a new bike, so hes getting less sleep now which we figured out this morning... he wakes up early although it takes him less time to ride than get the bus masha'Allah.. anyways, it seemed to calculate correct at 315am but not now lol :)
Ive just made a few adjustments to my forum ID so moving forward with a lot of things in my life alhamdulillah. Currently looking for a new job, even thinking of moving areas in the future.. but thats wayyy in the future.
Anyways, just wanted to keep you a little up to date.. sorry its been so long but I am still around and checking out your blogs masha'Allah
