The weekend is here alhamdulillah

Assalamalikum sisters, so its finally friday... I dont know about everyone else but these past few weeks have flown by and it scares me a little. Allahu alim.

So today I eventually got an email back from the agency who headhunted me for a job as a ballistic technician, insha'allah the company will sort out a date this week for us to get together again. This will be my 2nd interview with them and the guy said usually they go for 3-5 interviews... hmmm dunno if I have that amount of time I can take off, but we will see how it goes. Insha'allah it works out, it means more money insha'allah, me moving to Cambridge, Ontario, me wearing hijab to work (this is the biggest thing and most exciting for me) and also working shifts... thats one thing I am nervous about but Allah (swt) knows best.

Its Saturday tomorrow (obviously) so Im waiting to see whether I can wake up for fajr tomorrow... Ive been keeping up with my to-do list alhamdulillah, dhikr, sunnah salah after maghrib, full 3 rakah witr and (apart from last weekend) fajr on time with sunnah. So all is going well... one thing I havent really kept up with is something not on my list, when I mentioned reading between maghrib & isha... ive been reading around then... but its all good.

I have halaqa tomorrow, and Im working for a few hours.. then sunday my mum is coming over and we are going to the cinema... its her birthday monday so she wants to do something with me as I wont be able to see her then.

Well... time for bed. Insha'allah speak to you all soon... Keep in touch.. I do look forward to your comments. Fi amenallah

Laser hair removal

just wondered what everyone thought about this subject?? Im thinking of doing it when I get abit of money aside insha'allah. Some places look ok for prices and I know I should go with a respectable company, how do I find that though? When I dont know anyone that has had it done... hmm.. Im thinking underarm and lower legs... thats what I usually get waxed and on a whole wont it be cheaper in the long run?? Theres a place in Toronto that do underarms for $149 ok.. so i would like to wax my underarms once a month.. at least, it doesnt grow that fast and lets face it, who do I have to look good for so it costs $15 each time I think it is... so at once a month it would take me 10 months for it to pay for itself.. and well I dont have to think about it for the rest of my life... hmmm.. it seems to sound better. I wish I could get my bikini line done, but Allahu alim.. with my legs I usually have them done once every 3-4 months.. cause they hardly grow, those who know me will vouch for this insha'allah... Ive waxed since i was a teenage alhamdulillah and only have hair on the front of my legs. Lemme know your opinions insha'allah.

What I did tonight

Assalamalikum sisters,

so I found this on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isra_and_Miraj have a read... I didnt read it all but its interesting masha'allah. So I decided I was gonna pray some extra salah and try read my quran too, I was a little late with maghrib, so I prayed it... then 2 sunnah rakat, 2 nafl rakah, read quran, 2 nafl, read quran, 2 nafl... then it was time for Isha... so i pray fard, 2 sunnah, 2 nafl.... this is where I am for now.. heehee... gonna read some quran pray 2 nafl, read some more..

u know that thing that salah is the best exercise.. Im totally relating to it now alhamdulillah. I have on my pjs and my baggy prayer dress with attached shayla, im really warm and i can feel my muscles sometimes shaking in sujood... Then insha'allah im gonna pray witr and 2 nafl then read quran and sleep insha'allah. Also, Im thinking... well I feel soo much better for doing this, in myself, you know... so im thinking, when i can insha'allah (as in when Im not at my mums) Im gonna take the time between maghrib & isha and do this more... mayb not as many salah but definately reading quran and other islamic books... theres an hour and a half between em.. I think I can do quite alot in that time... oooh Im soo excited. Ok, well back to my mat. Insha'allah catch u soon.

Update

Assalamalikum everyone, so I found the checklist blog which I will use insha'allah to organise my time. So insha'allah they will be ticked off in time. So here is my update so far with my list

1. Wake for fajr on time, pray sunnah too (as usual) and praise Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala) 100 times before sleeping some more.

So from when this list was created this week I was doing good, until the weekend hit then it was out the window. I really dont understand what it is about the weekends that makes my hearing shut off at 5am. Im thinking mayb subconsciously i know that when I wake up I will have time to pray whereas during the week I wont cause by the time I leave the time after sunrise is just finishing when I have the time to do it. Mayb thats why. Anyone have any hadith about missing fajr to kick me up the backside?? Actually I know I have an email about fajr, insha'allah Ill read it later.

2. To pray sunnah salah after Maghrib & full 3 rakah for witr

Alhamdulillah this is being kept up and I must admit its pretty easy to keep up with alhamdulillah. I try to pray Isha when the adhan goes so Im not praying them all before bedtime, thats when I get restless and I have less concentration. So we can tick this one off heehee... although Im gonna keep it on my checklist and see how it goes insha'allah.

3. To learn the duaa (Qunut) for witr

Well this should really be number 4 cause Im learning my surah first... so no comment for this cause I havent even looked at it Image

4. Finish learning Quraish (2 arabic ayah left)

So I have the whole day to myself today... so insha'allah Ill get at least the 3rd ayah learnt.

Take care... Fi amenallah

Frustrations

Assalamalikum sisters, I just wanted to get out my annoyance at the drivers in this country AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ok, all out now... I dunno if its cause of where I live (near a big city) or just canadians on a whole... no offence to the canucks here.... im sure it isnt everyone, just the ones I come across.....

So I was just walking around the shopping centre and I saw a kid I reckon about 10 or 11 with a tshirt on that said.... drunk chicks think Im hot.. subhanallah... what is the world coming to when parents buy these things for their kids, cause he really wasnt at an age to be buying his own clothes. Also, I noticed the majority of the girls where either pulling up jeans or pulling down tshirts or skirts... alhamdulillah for the way I dress... no pulling of any kind alhamdulillah.

Well thats it for now... insha'allah back to work on my arabic, my arabic teacher is home august 28th and shes warned me of a test not looking forward to that especially when I havent done nearly as much as I wanted to... but isnt that always the way??!

Fi amenallah my dear sisters.

My deen

Assalamalikum sisters,

so Ive decided... Im gonna make a few changes in relation to my deen insha'allah to strengthen myself. Tonight, Ive chatted with a friend from home.... ate, stitched some more and insha'allah im gonna read more of the book Im reading with my Islamic reading group. However, for now... this is a pact to myself, but I just wanted to tell you all about it Image not for any particular reason.. mainly cause I speak to a few of you often and Im hoping you will keep me on my toes Image So here it is...

1. Wake for fajr on time, pray sunnah too (as usual) and praise Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala) 100 times before sleeping some more.

2. To pray sunnah salah after Maghrib & full 3 rakah for witr

3. To learn the duaa (Qunut) for witr

4. Finish learning Quraish (2 arabic ayah left)

Thats it for now.... Hmm... Im wondering whether there is some sort of checklist blog on the net where I could put all this stuff.... anyone know?? Fi amenallah

Shopping

Assalamalikum sisters, yes Ive done it again. I couldnt pass up on the offer of 3 abayas for $140 from islamic boutique. So they arrived in Canada about 2 weeks ago and according to the tracking messages it was waiting at customs waiting for a signature. I couldnt understand whos signature they were waiting for cause noone had phoned me. So i phoned them up, they put me through to the place where its being kept and he told me that I had to go pick up paper work from him then go to customs to get them to release the parcel. So i went to get the paperwork then he told me once i have the release to come back to him and he would give me the parcel... Im like.. u have it here?? Man!!! So anyways, I got to customs, the guy was ok... not as scary as i thought i would find before making duaa in the car before entering the building. Now Im home and I can pick them up tomorrow insha'allah, Im working at the airport in the morning and the place is just around the corner. Insha'allah it will be open that early, if not.. Ill go on my dinner hour. Im sooo excited...

Plus... ive been for 3 interviews recently... well one was with an agency who headhunted me for a ballistics technician job... but ive worn hijab to all of them and I cant believe how strong I feel in it, like this is truly the real me. U know?? Alhamdulillah. Something must be coming across though cause they dont seem to look like they feel sorry for me, I imagined when i decided to wear it that the interviewers would be hung up about it and i realised why fulltime hijabis couldnt give 2 hoots.... cause they are confident with who they are in the scarf. I know the things I know, with and without it... so if its written I will hear back from them soon. Make duaa for me sisters, I really need to get out of the place Im in right now... not just for my sanity but especially for my deen insha'allah.

Fi amenallah
