Busy weekend

and I know you are all dying to know what Ive been up to, well maybe not dying but Im gonna tell you anyways lol :D

So I will quickly tell you I had tons of fun at Sonyas on Thursday night alhamdulillah, there was a girl there I wasnt expecting masha'allah and I got to meet a new sister who Ive known online for a little while which was all fun. We talked, ate and drank... and it was good to just chill with the girls, we cooed over Zayd masha'allah until it was time for the munchkin to go to bed. I was grilled over A and we were disturbed during dessert by the boys coming home, so then I walked back to the train station for a depressing hour travel time back to kingston. Oh and ring update (because we were talking about it that evening) I dont have it yet... they think a extra week..so another 2 weeks insha'allah
Then on Saturday I went to whitechapel to buy some wedding accessories with my friend Davina :D we met outside the station before dhuhr and made our way through the market with me filling her in on A to go pray in whitechapel mosque. I always love being around Davina, shes so open to learning things, always asks me little questions which I try to answer as best as I can. Shes so adorable masha'allah... anyways back to the mission.. so after salah we wandered down the market. Now I was also specifically looking for the stall that sold the imaan jilbabs which I hadnt spotted on my way up, but I was confident it was there. I looked at a few other stalls that were selling good quality abayas (even the same style as the one I had already bought) for good prices. I spotted a few and made a mental note to return there, as we looked at one stall at the pretty white hijabs hanging up I went inside and found the abayas alhamdulillah.. and he was still selling them for a tenner. I decided on one of those and to get 2 abayas from the other stall.. so I paid 27quid for 3 abayas of decent good quality masha'allah, and one of them I wore that day lol :D
After the abayas we took the tube over to finsbury park where I had seen some lil bolero jackets to go with my dress insha'allah.. but its time for work, so thats another blog insha'allah

Iftar conversation

him: what did you have?
me: Spaghetti bolognaise, yummy...
him: erm.. isnt that supposed to be with meat or something?
me: yeh, mince.. but I use veggie mince
him: ok (laughs quietly)

you think he realises I aint cooking meat for him yet? or that I will somehow change my mind after the amount of times Ive said it. Hmm... lets see what fun we can get into with that in the future ;)

Wishings

Ramadhan Mubarak to all the peeps out there reading my blog... oh and I found Clinton cards selling Eid cards.. 3quid for 1.. pff!!! lol, just wanted to post that lol :D

Ramadhan is coming

Insha'allah I will start fasting tomorrow with my community, things will be so different this year.. even now before we start I havent had my ritual freak out with Nadia or Anisah on what day to start and whether to go with Saudi or my local community if it was different. Alhamdulillah the decision has been taken from me because in Kingston they go by Saudi :) Alhamdulillah, one less thing to worry about. There was a question as to whether we would start today so I was panicing a little last night and to be honest Im glad I have an extra day to sort myself out, not that there is much to do lol.
My plan for this year insha'allah.. I wont be going to as many taraweeh prayers as the mosque is probably the same distance from me as my mosque in Cambridge, Canada but I dont have a car. Isha starts 9.50- 9.00 throughout the month with Taraweeh starting immediately afterwards which might not be too bad. I will go to one at the beginning, maybe tonight and see how long they last for and what the buses are like at that time insha'allah. I have 2 surahs in mind to memorise this month as I havent learnt any for quite some time now *blush* so insha'allah I can do that and move forward with my memorisation. I have books that I want to get read too.. some are non-islamic so I want to get them done and out of the way so I dont waste time over them. I will be meeting a few friends for iftar insha'allah, already have something planned with Sonya, Mina and my friend Davina insha'allah. Obviously, like every year since I have become muslim, I will be reading quran... I pray to actually get the courage to speak to a sister who holds the madrassa at my masjid to see if there are any classes for Quran reading at the mosque insha'allah. Im also intending on getting a keep fit dvd or yoga dvd and work out in my room as I want to get fitter soon insha'allah, Ive noticed my arms are getting a lil podgy ;) Ive done a little shop for Ramadhan, just need to buy some eggs for subhoor and then once I get paid I will get some more things in insha'allah... also when I get paid I will be buying my ticket for flying over to Canada in January insha'allah which Im looking forward to. I cant wait to get back on my board and see my friends :) been missing them alot lately, so will be good...
Oh and I suppose I should let you girls in on the plan for after Eid... yes yes, insha'allah Im getting married *blush* this wont be a big massive thing as most people keep assuming. The nikah will be us, his friend and brother, a few friends of mine.. the 'ceremony' and then out for something to eat afterwards insha'allah.. we went shopping for rings yesterday (well it started on Monday) but I found it now and its being sent away for resizing to fit my teeny tiny fingers.. max 2 weeks the guy said. So watch out for pictures insha'allah :D I know Mina is dying to see it, and I think a few of my friends are more excited than me lol. You know, I was thinking to leave it a lil longer.. after all when we get married we will have only known each other just over 2 months, but I feel like I really know him and the opinions he has are opinions I can live with.. he is a simple guy masha'allah and only wants whats best for his family (ie his wife and kids) I have no issues with him at all.. Ive just been making sure he realises what hes getting himself in for after freaking out (AGAIN) after buying the ring.. yes, imagine me hyperventilating outside the big shopping centre in Kingston!! Anyways, Allah will provide and it will all be good insha'allah. I ask for you to remember me in your duaas girls :) I could use them right now insha'allah.
Peace and salams,

My mood

So, as per my mood.... Im a lil distracted as most of you have probably realised recently.. Ive been busy too which doesnt help when Im distracted as I tend to forget things that should be more important to me. Ive neglected this blog for a start and I do apologise, I try to keep you up to date but by the time I sit down to write a million things have happened and I feel like Ive forgotten most of the things and cant give you an accurate account of my life. Alhamdulillah Ramadhan is coming much quicker than I want it to, but once its here I will be reading Quran, learning some new surahs insha'allah (I have 2 in mind this year) cooking more and generally sorting out that side of my life. So for the time being I leave you with this picture and a note that I am keeping on top of the blogs I read so dont think I dont know whats going on with you!! Im off for a few hours with my homie Mina this afternoon, which we havent done since she got married so Im looking forward to that insha'allah.
Peace and salams,

Weekend abaya bargain

So I bought an abaya for 10 pounds over the weekend (pic to follow insha'allah) and it fits perfect.. did anyone go to the bazaar at Regents Park Mosque and see the stall?? All abayas 10quid.. the label says Imaan jilbab.. I wonder if they are selling more at this price. I could kick myself for not buying more
