My Eid

Assalamalikum, ok for those who havent heard... i had a pretty bad Eid. Allahu alim... so heres how it went. Sunday, I was contemplating taking the day off, but i didnt have the holidays and couldnt afford to take it without pay what with this new job coming up and whatever... so i go to work on monday. Lunch time comes and goes, and i get back into the lab.. im trying to get some work done before a girl comes who im supposed to be training because i dont follow the method for it, and dont want to go through the whole thing of explaining why because we arent supposed to change the methods. I had this issue when i first started, the guy before changed them but didnt tell anyone so i came to a brick wall when things didnt work cause 'they worked for him' so it was a case of argue until blue in the face or just change it and not tell them. So i took the latter option (easier) anyways, i was digesting a sample in sulphuric acid.. for those of you who dont know this acid check out this link it reacts with water to form a hot liquid and is quite corrosive. Ive done this digestion a million times since i started work 2 yrs ago... this time it just didnt go as it usually did.

Long story short i ended up spilling it on my hand my skin turned black and i ran straight to the sink... from then till about 3 hrs later my hand was kept numb from the cold water. But once it became unnumb, well lets say there were tears. i got moved to a hospital that specialises with burns about 15mins drive from the other hospital, first they told me they got in touch with the plastic surgeon which freaked me out. They said they didnt do anything, to phone burns. So i go to the burns unit, they tell me the other hospital didnt do what they should have done so had my hand under water for 1hr.. then doused it with cream and bandaged it up, then told me i needed to stay in for 24hrs for obs. I wasnt intending on telling my mum cause she would just freak and start makin it into a big issue, for me i saw no need for this, things couldnt be changed, Allah (swt) has his plans and i didnt think it was that bad. The burn started between my thumb and index finger on the back of my hand, and spread around into my palm and up my index finger. So it started blistering a little, so much so that i couldnt lift up my index finger for tashahud when i did get to pray. The night was boring, but alhamdulillah my friend came and brought me some stuff. So the next morning i was woken up at 730 to 'check things' subhanallah i could have kicked the nurse.. but then i was havin this weird stiffness in my upper arm and started worrying, until i remembered they gave me a tetanus shot at the first hospital, and its still hurting now. So the doctor came round and told them to burst the blisters and he would check me the next morning, im like u want me to stay in again?? hes like yeh, dont u want to?? i go, erm... NO!! he eventually gives in after i tell him i wont do anything

so alhamdulillah im at home now. Had the nurse come round yesterday and this morning to change my bandages, they see pink skin so its healing alhamdulillah. This morning its pretty tight and my exercises hurt more.. but i know i have to do them. Just wanted to keep u all up to date.
