Alhamdulillah

I just spoke with h2b and he is fine.. just been busy with his family and friends but able to give me a quick call. Although he says he sent 2 text to me over the week to my phone, which I never received.. which is normal for algerian/english mobile to canadian. Again he asked if my mum knew of him and told me I should get this sorted :( I fear he doesnt really understand where he is coming from and just wants her to know so she can be accepting. Although I told him, just cause she knows she wont be accepting.. she wont like you, she will think u want something other than a life partner, she will think youre brain washing me... I feel like everyone is just up against me at the moment and I cant seem to do anything right for anyone :( Allahu alim

  4. asalam alaikum sis

i know you feel trapped, when i got married 16 years ago my family had never met my hubby until the day, we had been together 3 months. and i as told the same as you lol, oh he wants his visa(took 3 yrs) already had baby by then. it wont last, hes brainwashed you into being muslim(6yrs after marrying i reverted.

the funny thing is all my brothers and sisters are all divorced, one in an affair, the other only Allah swt knows what hes doing. And me i am happily together with two wonderful boys mashallah and my family now know that i have a stronger marriage than any of them alhumdulillah.

so never feel trapped into making a decision, when you feel it is right you should tell your mum, let her get out of her system all that she wants to say.

my family called the police on my hubby a few times, and told them he had kidnapped me and locks me away in a the house etc subhanallah.

maybe you could have a friend with you when you tell her, or make it on friendly territory like your place inshallah.

just know sis you are in my duas and inshallah all will work out well for you.

    wa salam

  5. Maybe the best thing would be for him to meet her. Then she can't get all these silly ideas into her head. Maybe she will meet him and know he is right for you.

But you also need to do a bit of soul searching and ask yourself why you are so worried that she will react like that.

  6. Assalamu alaikom,
Honestly, I can't blame him for wanting her to know. Put yourself in his shoes for a moment.

...You handle the situation how you feel is best. But if I were you (and I'm not), I would try to make h2b understand the best I could, and I would try to make him feel secure in other ways to make up for this situation. Men are proud creatures, *and* it's a good sign that he wants to start things off properly because it shows that he respects himself and respects you and your family.

  7. Believe me Ammena, telling them, involving them, makes it easier for non-muslim family. It is the things they excluded from that upset them. I miss you. Move to Victoria.
