My weekend plan, insha'allah of course
This weekend I have a few things planned, I booked a private snowboarding lesson tomorrow morning which should give me some more skill in my boarding insha'allah. Its at 11am, so I plan on getting there a little earlier (no I sort of know how to get there) and have a little time to myself before booking in for my lesson insha'allah. Then I will hopefully see how it goes and maybe stay an hour or so after the lesson, depends how tired I am :P Then its back to mine to buy some stuff for my mum before setting off to hers for the night, then sunday insha'allah Ill drive back down to cambridge after being fed (heehee) then Im hoping to meet up with a friend in the evening. I met her at the masjid today after our only contact being random text messages at 12am lol, so we decided to do something this weekend. She says shes wanted to sit down to chat with me for ages as she has been having hijab issues, I wish I could have been there for her before but better late than never eh?! Although I dunno why she wants talk to me, what can i help her with?? the little person who cant even stand up to her own mother and tell her abotu the change of path in her life. Allahu alim
Also Im looking forward to going over to Ottawa next weekend, Ive booked the car and insha'allah Ill get directions from my friend... i seriously need some new walls, especially since the winnipeg trip fell through. I also might be going to visit a friend in Michigan insha'allah. So something to look forward to in April :D
Ok, back to work.
Peace and salams, Ammena

Update
What with my break from the net, Ive been able to do some concentrating on me alhamdulillah. Today I woke up late :( but I was able to get out and hunt for a long sleeved white top Ive been looking for for ages :) on my 4th shop, can you believe it took that long to find that essential? alhamdulillah its been found, and now Im wearing it under my $1 dress from bluenotes ;P Anyways, I got home and have really got stuck into my current stitching project. Ive decided I want to make a big piece for each of my closest friends... so you may be on the list :P The one Im working on at the moment I just have to finish the border, Im nearly finished with a big shahada man too, which I dont know what to do with since I was told this might actually be haram, any thoughts or comments? Finally I finished learning my surah :D alhamdulillah, surah al-ma'un, Im so happy to have that finally finished, and it actually wasnt that hard as I had expected just because its 7 verses.Ooh, I just ordered some books off my wishlist too :D one thousand splendid suns, eat, pray, love and footsteps :D so im excited to receive those hopefully the last week in march :D Also I booked the car for going to visit my friend in Ottawa next weekend, so something in the future to look forward to insha'allah

I did it! On my own!
I actually went out on my own today and snowboarded for just under 2 hours. The picture isnt me obviously but its basically what I was doing the whole time :) I must admit I was nervous going their on my own and I go soo lost trying to find the place, it actually took me double the time it was supposed to but oh well. I was nearly ready to just go home when I asked someone who helped me in directions and I found it. It cost $10.75 for the whole day, where I usually pay $20 for a day, not much difference but hey at least I definately went instead of sitting around waiting for a phone call from my friend (who still hasnt got in touch with me, may I add) I got there parked up, wore my Everton hat over my hijab to keep my ears warm, paid for my lift pass and asked a few questions. I was thinking of maybe taking a few official lessons but thought against it at that point in time (u had to turn up an hour earlier and there was a massive queue)So I headed over to the bunny slopes, theres a magic carpet lift there (just a moving flat carpet) which is soo much easier to use and probably less harmful for me :P At first I was practising going down horizontal to the slopes until I realised that I couldnt move very far before I stopped because of the general gradient of the slope. So I started trying to go down vertical to the slope, which usually scares me because you can end up going really fast. I was trying to learn how to stop, which probably sounds stupid but I think Ive got the hang of it and Im so pleased :) so insha'allah Im going to go a few more times before the season finishes although I dont know what that exactly is :D
I was excited to do it today :P got home just after dhuhr so got in, stripped off (snowpants) and prayed my salah, obviously after getting changed. So insha'allah I will look at my surah in more depth, i have the first 5 verses well and truly sorted and half of the 6th, so insha'allah by the weekend Im hoping to have cracked it and be able to cross it off my list :D

Internet time
So in relation to my last post, well sort of, I wanted to say thanks to everyone who replied :) life friend or net friend it meant a lot alhamdulillah. I just wanted to write to tell you that my computer has been playing up lately and Ive finally decided to take it to the shop to try to fix it. I had to buy a memory stick to save all my photos and some of my lectures, insha'allah they wont wipe the drive cause I didnt get to save them all. Which means that I no longer have the internet at home, I will be checking in on things while I am at work insha'allah and am going to take this deserved break by doing things I want to do, Im going snowboarding tomorrow, ON MY OWN! insha'allah, Im going to catch up on my current stitching project and insha'allah finish some reading. Im also 5 verses through 7 verses of surah al-ma'un so insha'allah I can remember that by the end of the month.I just also wanted to say to remember 2 of my friends in your duaa, one is under a lot of stress as her brother is in hospital in intensive care... the other, well she just found out shes pregnant :D masha'allah.. just remember them both please, and me :) and the ummah and the tests we go through every day. Pray for those under oppression, suppression, those who face poverty, starvation and fear every day of their lives. Insha'allah they will be rewarded for their faith and their sabr.
Peace and Salams,
Ammena
